Noticed something interesting with DIRECTV satellite service vs stream.
I was visiting family this weekend and they have satellite service on their main tv’s but use a fire stick to log into the app for a tv in the kitchen. So with satellite service you get full access to the same app we use for stream. The difference I noticed is there is virtually no delay if you are logged into the app with a satellite service login (tested this on satellite box and app on same channel). If you log in with stream credentials the delay is 15-20 seconds. How crazy is that?

That probably has more to do with your home internet speed. I don't notice any delay with any of my DirecTV Stream devices on my 1Gig internet service.

Hi there. Thank you for your feedback. DIRECTV reliability is 99%, and its signal goes straight through the Satellite. In contrast, the DIRECTV STREAM relies on the internet connection and the number of connected devices. So, to help with the delay you have with your DIRECTV STREAM, please go to the following link https://www.speedtest.net/ to do a speed test. We suggest these internet download speeds for DIRECTV STREAM:
Home Wi-Fi® or wired connection: Speeds of 8Mbps per stream or more deliver an optimal viewing. So, if you're watching DIRECTV STREAM on 10 devices at home, we recommend a minimum speed of 80Mbps. If you're using AT&T Internet, we recommend the Internet 100 plan or higher for watching on up to 10 streams.
Mobile data: 150Kbps to 2.5Mbps are ideal speeds for standard-definition streaming. 2.5 to 7.5Mbps are best for high-definition quality up to 1080p.
We want to make sure, did you try that before? Remember that the DIRECTV family will always be here for you. Dillan, DIRECTV Community Specialist
