Log into your account online. If you've never logged in you can setup the login on the DirecTV website with information beyond your account number. You can pay there as well.
If you pay over the phone with the voice system or online it posts same day. By any other 3rd party method (bank's bill pay, MoneyGram, etc.) it can take up to 3 business days to post. If you mail a check there is no guarantee when they receive it, especially during holiday season, and it is counted when they cash it not when you mailed it.
