Service Address changes
Unable to have the Movers Department change my service address for local channels. We snowbird/RV and our service address changes frequently. After 2 years of flawless changes to our service address when moving locations, they (Movers Dept) say there is an error on my account and they cannot change the service address for local channels?

You might just try calling again and hope you connect with a more willing support rep. But it has, indeed, gotten harder for RVers to change their "service address". Many have switched to Dish Network. Or gone the Streaming route.

I appreciate the response. Loyalty Department is where my phone calls are now received. It would appear that someone has listed my phone number as a problem account. Loyalty has provided significant discounts but the problem still exists. My account error for being unable to change service addresses has been escalated to "AIR" department and they are supposed to have a disposition in 48 hours.
We will see?

Keep us posted. But don't get your hopes up. DirecTV is simply not very "RV Friendly" anymore. We switched to DirecTV Stream since it's seamlessly the same service at home and in our RV. And we can use a variety of streaming devices.

We have no idea if the new partner will or will not allow RVers to change the service address.

Interesting perspectives from all whom responded. 2 years ago when we had the DTV installed it was for the purpose of using full time in our Motorcoach. If they (AT&T, Direct TV or this New Co-Owner) decide to not grant service address changes there appears to be no other alternative with DTV.
Streaming content is a very competitive market today vs even 2 years ago. Just requires some additional arrangements for more stable internet connection in our mobile environment.
This explains a lot on why DTV Tech support, Movers and Loyalty have been tongue tied and want to keep pushing the time to fix the issue perhaps to keep me on the line until my 24 months lapses.
Too bad really, there a quite a few RVs out there that still use DTV in the manner I do uh or did...

Not for long as most RVs have the MPEG2 SD only dishes that will be obsolete when DTV finishes the MPEG2 SD channels shut down unless they pay to upgrade the dish and add MPEG4 receivers.
