The email that was used to sign up with is no longer available.  I have an account number how can I see my account

What do you mean ‘no longer available?’ To gain access to your account call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and say ‘sign-in help’ to the robot. This will send you to an agent that can assist. As we are customers just like you on a public forum, we can’t help with account-based issues.

Did you ever sign up for online access? Even if your email is no longer available, it’s just your user id. You can still use it to login if that is what you used to setup online access.
