2 hd-dvr's or 1 and whole home
what would be a better set-up? 2 hd-dvr's or whole home set-up.If i decide on two dvr's, do they work independently? thanks (cost right now would be $150 for another hd-dvr or $200 for another dvr +whole home setup)

Get two HD DVRs AND the Whole Home DVR service. Then you can view recordings from both DVRs on both DVRs .... Best of both worlds!

Totally agree, an all HD DVR Whole Home setup is wonderful. Best thing since color TV. If you connect the system to the Internet you'll have more toys to play with then there are hours in the day.

thanks for the help, but one clarification..I only have 2 tv's. It is cheaper to get 2 hd-dvr's than 1 hd-dvr and whole home. With only 2 tv's in house, what would the better set-up be. thanks again for the help

The best setup is two DVRs, both connected with Whole Home DVR networking. Then either TV can view recordings from either DVR. This is great when you have several prime time shows that you want to record, but both DVR tuners are already busy.
If you simply can't afford that, then two HD DVRs is the best way to go.

There is a lot of opinion in whatever anyone answers. I personally would go for the Whole Home setup with one HD DVR and one HD receiver. I like the option of starting the program in the living room and finishing it in the bedroom.

Of course, you can also do that with two HD DVRs
