3 DVR's with MRV, two DVR's can see the 3rd but not vice versa?

setup:
living room: HR24-500 wired
bedroom 1: HR24-500 wireless
bedroom 2: HR24-500 wireless

for the past week i've been playing with the two DVR's connected and all was well, I set up the 3rd DVR but didn't pay much attention to it past checking that ondemand worked.

I didn't think there was a problem because most of the time im in the living room and I can see shows recording on the bedroom 2 DVR, I can watch them.. everythings peachy.

but from bedroom 2, the DVR says it sees no networked DVR's? ever? also, the livingroom DVR when looking at MRV status shows the bedroom 2 DVR as a number instead of the name given to it?

I have:
ensured that all 3 DVR's are open sharing everything.
reset all 3 DVR's.
swapped wireless bridges to see if the problem followed the device.

3rd DVR is having no problems with ondemand or serving up shows to the other 2 DVR's so i'm a little skeptical that this is a network problem but short of telling me I should go get DECA, any other ideas for troubleshooting this?

Well, I won't suggest you wait for DECA but it was anticipated that wireless networks would have difficulty with MRV so spending a lot of time and effort to try to perfect a less than perfect system is a waste in my book. When the thing I'm not supposed to mention becomes available that might be the best course of action.

thats fine, suggest DECA.. but short of that, there's nothing else to check?

thats the issue i have.. why even put ethernet on these boxes if every single problem results in "go buy DECA".

i understand wireless as it relates to performance, quality but flat out only working one way? odd.

cant wait to get DECA!!! *everything* will be perfect, right?

I can see that you're frustrated, but you need to understand that your difficulty is not related to the Directv receiver or it's Ethernet port. Your problem lies in the system that connects one box to the other. MRV requires a rock solid 100% full time connection between units. If one of the wireless or powerline connections has minute interruptions in the signal (commonplace) then MRV will not connect. Even some hard wired Cat5 connections have trouble due to problems at the router. The DECA system will feed the signal from one receiver to the other via the coax cable and will never enter the router at all. Luckily you've had the opportunity to at least try the MRV to a limited degree. I think it's a really slick feature and we use it every day.

You'll probably have to wait until the national release of the mrv for all the components. The DECA won't do you any good, that feature is built into the H24/HR24 models.
