771 On HD Locals in Afternoon
We have 3 HD recievers in the house, and all three have been exhibiting the same behavior now for a while.
When watching one of the local HD channels, the Searching for Signal 771 box will stay on the screen the entire time, forcing us to either switch to the Non HD channel or push a button every so often to get the screen saver to go away. We have reset the recievers with the red button, we have unplugged them for minutes (one we did for an hour just to be sure). We have forced a software update (already had the latest version, but did it again anyway). We have checked the cables, but when we get mid to high 90s and some 100s, it just doesn't make sense.
However the interesting discovery came when generating the signal numbers below. Normally the 99/103 S (B) sats are half 0 half 90s, as I understand it those are spot beams so having a lot of 0s isn't a bad thing so long as the beams we are supposed to get are coming in strong. However, looking at the meters, EVERYTHING is 0 on these two sats. To make things more interesting however, is the fact that we can almost always watch the HD channels when this error message is up, the video is clear and the audio usually works without much hiccuping, but the 771 message box takes up about a quarter of the screen.
How can the signal meter on multiple recievers show 0 yet we get an almost flawless image?
How can we fix this and make it stop happening?
Each reciever is directly connected to one port on the LNB, we have the first version of the 5LNB dish, the one with a 2 part LNB not the Slimline one with the single part LNB. The cables run from the dish to a grounding block and then to the BBC then to the reciever.
