771 searching for single on dvr

On my dvr I have an problem with loss of signal of certain channels. I check the signal strength and I get upper 90's followed by a 0. This alternates throughout the transponders. I have done all thr re-booting, re-setting & power down/power up drills for over a year now. The last time I had a service tech here, he said it was a tree problem. I've just spent several bucks on limb removeable. I rebooted the system, several times before it came up. It played well until 8:30 PM last night and did the same thing. I have two other boxes and they do not have this problem. There are no tree limbs blocking the signal but I still have the problem and I need help NOW!
