adding guest house

I have a freestanding guest house net to the main house (where my primary hookup will be).  It's about 120 ft from the main.  If I were to connect the two with cable, the run would be 150 to 200ft.  I have ordered the Whole Home DVR and additional HD receivers.  Will a hookup from the main system support this sort of cable run length (200 ft)?  If not, will I need to get an additional dish installed?  I have the same ethernet network in both houses (main and guest).  Can I still use the Whole Home functions in both locations if I can't connect the two also via a coax directly to the multi-switch?

It would be easier to use a second dish on the guest house.  But then you cannot have Whole Home DVR service between the two locations.  On second thought, you *might* be able to use the ethernet connection in the guest house, but that's not a supported configuration.   A 150-200' cable run is too long for standard RG6 cable and would require special RG11 coax (not easy, and not performed by most DirecTV installers).

correct.  the best way to accomplish this is to run at least one RG11 cable to the guest house.  this way you will be able to put the receivers on the guest house on the same WHDVR network as the main house.
