Adding our house trailer to our satelite

We have a account with Directv. Our house is on the account .And a satellite in the back yard. Also a mobile home right next to the Satellite. We are wanting to hook the mobile home up to our Direct tv account too. How would we be able to do this? They are both on the same property. The mobile home is right next to the Satellite.

Should be possible. But you'll need to do it yourself since DirecTV won't service a mobile home.

What equipment model numbers do you currently have?

What type of satellite dish?  How may cables are attached to the dish?

How far is the mobile home from the dish?  From the main house?

We have a satelite that was put in when we got Directv. We have a HR54-700 Genie Gen 3 in our living room and a C41-500 Genie Mini in the bedroom. Right now we just have 1 cable going from the Satellite to the house. The Satellite is maybe 30 ft from the trailer. We are just wanting to add cable out to our mobile home off our satellite. The satellite dish is out in our yard not attached to our house. The satellite is really close to the mobile home.

You can use a 2-way SWM coax splitter to split the dish's satellite cable to feed your mobile home.  The existing cable to the main home will connect to the splitter's "DC Power Passing" port.  Of course, you'll need a DVR/Receiver for the mobile home, too.

Can you tell me how much more this would cost me per month?

How much more what would cost?

You can get a Travelers Account through a local RV dealer.  You can buy a SWM splitter and other DirecTV equipment from dealers like Solid Signal.

And directv would be ok with me doing this with their equipment I already have at my house? Doesn't seem right.

Not officially. But as long as you're not using the equipment at both places simultaneously, they don't really care. And, of course, it's no issue at all if you have a separate Travelers Account.
