Any answers on why 61k receivers do not show 4K on LG OLED Tvs?
When the tech came and upgraded my equipment to the new genie 2 systems he could never get channel 104-108 to show in 4K. Every time he went 4k resolution on the receiver menu the scene would go blank and not recognize the receiver input. It will show only in 720p and 1080I. He swapped 61k boxes, HDMI cables and reset everything with no help. So he left and I tried software check on TV and high end $150 HDMI cable from my XBOX with no luck. Called Tech support and he messed with resetting system and nothing. They sent another Tech out and around we went again with no help. This Tech thinks its a handshake software issue within the 61K receiver. Well I called another time and they just created a ticket for the Tech support group to look into it. So I'm stuck deciding if this is it with me and DIRECTV after 25 years. The biggest reason might be no NFL ticket anyways.

Well everyone, I finally was able to figure out what the problem was. Looks like the max length 4K/8K HDMI cable is less than 6ft. Now everything is working properly. The only other thing I noticed though is if you have something on playback and pause for amount of time you will get a notice that your HDMI cable doesn't support your TV. You will get a blank white screen and have to change channels to get video again.

What is your main Genie DVR model number? It must be an HR54 or HS17 to provide 4K via the C61K Mini Genie boxes.

The C61K is the only 4K box. However, it does require either the 3rd generation Genie (HR54) or the Genie-2 (HS17) as your main box. Do you have either of those two?
Also the TV must support HDCP 2.2, HDMI 2.0, and 60 FPS for DirecTV's specific requirements. Does your LG meet those requirements? What model is the TV?
I would verify if the TV is has all current software/firmware updates (welcome to the age of 'smart' TVs) and that the correct port on the TV is used (as usually only a single port is compatible for DirecTV's 4K).
A couple things I would check as they don't play well with DirecTV equipment. Make sure you are not using a 'smart' power strip and if your TV has it that HDMI-CEC is turned off.
And if it hasn't been done, unplug TV from power for a couple minutes to see if that refreshes anything on that side that may have been the cause.
Side note, though NFL Sunday Ticket is coming time to renew the agreement it likely will stay with DirecTV. But they are looking into a possible streaming option as an alternative, but nothing decided on yet.

Thanks for the replies
My equipment is:
61K receivers
HS17 Genie 2 main box
2021 Model LG OLED77G1PUA TV
All 4 inputs are 4K on TV and when I go to channel 104 my Tv in the top right corner says “HLG HDR”
Both my HDMI cables are the latest.
Tested from my Xbox series X
with saying supports resolution at
4K UHD at 60 and 120hz
And playing games at 4K/120FPS
My tv shows the latest software update plus no power strip on Tv and power strip is 5 years + monster cable on receivers.
Tried with HDMI- CEC on and off from past forums suggestions.
With 2 technicians at my house and several calls to tech support I’m out of answers.
Thanks for your help

Came down to length of the cable? Thanks for sharing with the community.
As for the "doesn't support" message, that is a HDCP handshake error. Unfortunately HDCP is still finicky, but as required by the networks we can't get around it currently. All we can do there is make sure we have good quality HDMI cables and equipment that meet the requirements and to have devices connected directly as daisy chaining devices increases the risk of something slipping up along the way with the 'handshake'.

Strange as DTV standard cable length is 6' that they supply with all installs.
