Anyone with a NON-DVR receiver get the update yet

I have the HR20 and a H21, the MRV is installed on the HR 20 but not on the H21. I do not understand directv rollout, what good is it to have the MRV on one and not the other. What are the directv engineers thinking, I just ASK when will the beta launch date be for the h21 firmware upgrade. A recomendation, DTV Beta launch dates for what reciever, should be in the DTV mail.Come on DTV give us some good news, been with DTV 15 years.

Anyone have info please ?????

My DVR was updated several weeks ago and I immediately forced a download on one of my 2 receivers. It downloaded and this works great. However, since then, I cannot get the new version on my other receiver, no matter how many times I "force" the download.
I would love to get this on both receivers!

So it does work. Direct TV is just dragging their butts on putting out the updates. You got the update because you forced a download while the window was open and it works. Direct TV needs to open the window for everyone. This is ridiculous.

Forcing downloads is just asking for trouble. For one thing forcing a download at the wrong time can result in getting test software with any number of unknown problems. At best, forcing a download will simply get you another copy of the software you already have. When the software is ready, and your receiver is authorized to get it, you'll get it... not before. Personally, I'd rather wait a little longer and get software they're confident in than be the guinea pig.

Yeah, user scofnc most likely got a "Cutting Edge test software" version and as user sungam eluded to unless you are prepared for "test software glitches" it's not a good idea to ever force a software download unless instructed by a DirecTV CSR to do so.

Yes, I received the new software (0x43A8) last night. Haven't had time to try everything but set-up went ok and all networked DVR's show on the list to set-up recordings from non-DVR boxes.

zzman77,
And you are located in Tuscon, AZ correct??? That may very well mean that the HD receiver upgrade(S/B 0x43A8) will start rolling towards the East coast soon. Yipeeeee!!!!! BTW, you did receive this update "unassisted".....in other words your receiver obtained it without any intervention(you did NOT do a "forced software update")......CORRECT????????

Version 0x34A8 is indeed the national release roll out.

Received the update during the night sometime. I set it up and watched a previously recorded show on the non DVR receiver.
It worked great.

And now the anxiety for those of us in Tennessee(or the East Coast) begins as to just how long will it take before it gets to us. Maybe we "Easterners" should complain to DirecTV crying "foul" and make them start the rollout of alternating National Releases on the East Coast going West to be fair to us:0)

We in the west are still recieving payment for the great sacrifices made to expand this country westward.

I'm happy to wait an extra week or so and let the Westerners be the guinea pigs. There's a reason they don't just update everyone all at once...

I am in Washington and as of this morning I didn't get the update. Perhaps over night tonight or tomorrow. I don't mind being on the bleeding edge as ong as I don't hemorage too bad. 🙂

sungam,
You got a point there. No telling if they "bricked" a few receivers in California with the first two attempts to roll out MRV for receivers. And then when all the lights lit up at the CSR call center and it was all users in California they went "OMG..........back out the rollout":0)

I have a clarifying question. We don't need to do anything to ensure we get the software update, correct? Since it's not recommended that we force an update, I'll wake up one morning and I'll have received the update? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I have the HR23/600 receiver and am anxiously awaiting the update. I live in Northeast Ohio and agree that it would be nice to have an idea of the planned rollout schedule.
