Audio drop-outs when you catch up to live tv on a buffered recording
I have noticed a rather large annoyance with respect to operating the HD DVR and would like to know if there is anything i can do to avoid this...
Often i will pause live tv and then come back and watch several minutes later. Once i resume watching and get to a commercial i will fast forward through the commercials until the next segment starts. Eventually, over time, i get back to "real-time" where the recording buffer is essentially "live". When this happens i notice a very high rate of audio "drop-outs" where the audio will drop momentarily every few seconds, often to the point where the show is unwatchable. It's almost like the tuner doesn't really get back to "live tv" and the buffering somehow affects the audio continuity. If i change channels momentarily and then come back to whatever channel i was watching the problem goes away.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to avoid it? It only happens with the scenario i described above. If i'm watching a previously recorded program it's never an issue.
