black screen and restart every 2 weeks

Today (Sunday) and two weeks ago (Sunday), we turned the TV on and the screen was black.  No picture, sound, or message from our TV that there was no signal.  We just restarted the receiver and it works.  Why does the receiver do this?  We have the HR24 HDDVR.  How standard receiver does not do this.
