blue and orange lights blinking simultaneously?

i was just watching tv at around 2 this morning and everything was working fine, although i did notice that when i went to turn everything off there was some static before it actually shut off. today, about an hour ago, i went to watch tv but just got a blue screen. i checked the input source and fixed it, but it was still a blue screen. i then noticed that the power light and the record light (blue and orange) are blinking at the same time with a quiet clicking along with it. tried unplugging the receiver for about a half hour but it did nothing. any suggestions?
