building new house
I'm building a new house and want to be able to take advantage of the new whole house DVR and have the wires to all TV's in place before the sheetrock for a hidden installation. Will I need coax between all of the receivers or just home runs to the DVR location? Just one wire to each location? Cat5 needed? Are the signals sent from the DVR to the other TV's through wire or air? Can internet be integrated too?
Thanks!!

You really want home runs from each room to a central wiring closet. It doesn't matter where your DVR is located. Run RG6 solid-copper core coax from each room to a central location. Run four coax cables from your dish location to that same central location. While you're at it, be sure to run ethernet cables from each room, too. And you'll want AC power at the central wiring closet.
While your walls are open, I also suggest running plastic conduit pipes behind one wall in each room that extends to the attic or basement/crawl space. Then you can easily run additional cables for any future needs.
DirecTV's WHDVR service will use the satellite coax cables to network the DVRs and Receivers together. But it's very convenient to have ethernet cables to each room for any phone or computer wiring needs. And think about what sort of internet service you'll have so that you can run cables for that, too.

In addition, be sure to run a coax from the wiring closet to your router location. This will facilitate networking the Whole Home with your LAN.

If you run ethernet cables from each room to the central wiring closet, then the ideal location for your network router is at the wiring closet.
