Caller ID will not show up on TV, I am subscribed to it

I had a new receiver installed because my other was 12 years old. One of the features touted was the Caller ID feature. I turned on messages on the receiver, and I have Caller ID with my phone - but when a call comes in as message comes up telling me that I should contact my phone company to get caller ID service. I have had it for many years. Tech support said to reset -which I did-nothing. I was told to unplug the 2 extra receivers on my cordless set. Nothing (besides, they are plugged into the wall, not connected to the phone line). Now they don't seem to know what to do. Any ideas?
