Camper set up.

Hello all,

This may be a simple question to answer.  I'm attempting to have a tail gate set up with my camper.  I have a standard HD DVR box with a slim line 5LNB dish with one port (green lable).  I was told I needed a multi-switch in order to get my set up to work.  I purchased the multi-switch and still have no luck.

The information I have read is stating I need a power inserter.  Do I have to have a power inserter or is the multi-switch enough.  I can't get a satellite signal.  Either I need a satellite finder to get the signal or I need the power inserter or both?

Thanks for any help.

Bad information.  You need the power inserter because you have a Single Wire Multiswitch LNB.  You cannot use a multiswitch.  Did your dish come with a Power Inserter?

Litzdog911, thanks for the info.  Came at perfect time.  I got the power inserter in the original installation at home.  I grabbed it before the camp trip and took it with us.  Got to the campsite and hooked it up.  Worked perfectly.  Managed to watch two nights of baseball in high def.  Finding the signal took about 5 minutes.  Thanks

good to hear.  but my advise for you is to procure another power inserter as to not disturb the TV in you house.  the receivers need a constant connection to the satellites, not having one, can cause a few headaches.

Actually I saw the "tiny" and thought it was something else. Looking at it now, I like it better than my long one.

I must confess, the Tiny is brand new to me. I did locate it via Google, and tried it out, how do you like my first attempt?Cry

dcd, there are many URL shorteners out there. I believe "tiny" was one of the first to tart offering this service.  this were created for twitter.  since  twitter only lets you write up to 140 characters, and some URL's are like 100 characters long.  or at least it seems that way.  so now you have more "room" to tweet even after you include a "tiny" URL

But your first attempt is PERFECT. way to go!   Laughing
