can i increase the sensitivity of the buttons on my remote?

over time..using our DVR...the family rewinds sports plays etc and hits the play button very hard...its now at the point where it barely works and you have to squeeze it crazy hard. Is there any way to restore the sensitivity of that button? Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks, bob

P.S. remote model is RC64 and DVR receiver  is the R22
