Can I swap HDDVR location?
I am a new DTV customer with a week old install of a HDDVR in the den(primary viewing room) and another HD Digital box in the bedroom set up to play the DVR content through whole house setup. Did I make a mistake? I think I should have put the DVR in the bedroom so that it could record 2 shows there and I could still watch a show in the den. Would it be hard to swap locations of the equipment? Would the playback quality suffer on the main TV in the den? Please help a newbe.

Most likely all you need to do is disconnect the two and trade places, reconnecting each as it was before. If there's a SWiM Power Inserter located behind one of the TVs (black box with two coax and one AC line cord) leave it where it is. There are a couple of other issues possible, but without knowing the exact receiver models you have, I can't be more specific. If you post the model numbers (look under the access card doors) we can see if there are other things you need to watch out for.

The HD DVR is an HR24D-500
The HD Reciever is an H24DP-200
Yes there is a power inserter at the current DVR location.
Is the audio and video the same quality/resolution at the non DVR location as it is at the DVR location?

Then all you need to do is physically swap the two... disconnect the power, satellite and TV cables from the back of each receiver and reconnect them the same way in the other location. Leave the Power Inserter where it is; connected as it is.
There should be no difference in picture or sound quality between the two.

I assume you understand that you can already record two programs in the Den and watch a third program in the bedroom. With only two boxes, it makes no difference at all where the DVR is located as far as functionality goes. You won't gain anything by moving the boxes.

I think the OP wants the opposite... to record two programs and still watch something else in the den, and that's not possible with the DVR in the den. To do that he needs to swap the two so he can watch a live program or a recording in the den while two are recording on the DVR in the bedroom.

I have a similar need and request, but an additional issue. It took a couple installers out to get this working; however the second installer has done something funky where the SWiM box for the DVR (host receiver) is connected to a wireless Internet access point that had been previously used to connect the HR-23 to our LAN to download "On Demand" programming. Since this was done, my capability to receive OnDemand program is gone. Upstairs I have a H24-100 receive and have tried on several occasions to connect that box directly to the LAN (this is a wired CAT-5 connection), but the Internet connection is not recognized.
I'd like to swap the HR-24 with the HR-23 if that is all it would take to restore Internet connectivity. Will that work, or am I going to have the SwIM boxes and network changed as well. I'd like to avoid having someone come out the house. It's a shame not to have the VoD capability.

I think perhaps instead of SWiM box you're referring to a DECA module (two coax and one Ethernet connection?). In any case the diagram attached shows how it needs to be set up. Swapping DVRs around won't help, you need a separate DECA module and power supply (Internet Connection Kit aka Cinema Connection Kit) which can be seen bottom center in the drawing.
