Canceled because a Broadcast UPDATE did not arrive in time. (13)

What the heck is this?  and what can I do to avoid it?  2 shows canceled recording because of this.  Surely it's not because it's recording on another receiver?

If you'd post specifics it would help.  What program on what channel at what time, and what was the specific wording of the message?

Sometimes program producers change stuff around at the last moment and you can't avoid that.  Of course if you're on site at that moment you can make adjustments.

Here you are...beside this I can't buy movies even with the Tel. line connected.  It's like I'm being punished for being with Directv for 16 years, and got a receiver for nothing.....can't buy online either...even tried the mobile phone thing, but where do you set that up?  the massage went through, but how do they identify your receivers????...Nuff whining, one step at a time.  Tried phoning, but got a very uninformed person helping me.  BTW did buy with bedroom receiver, seems to be this NEW one.

Keep in mind that all who answer you here are users just like you, and it's a lot easier helping if the rhetoric is missing and we stick to technical facts.  From the history there is no way of telling why the recordings were cancelled.

Have you had a lot of programs "cancelled" or do most record properly.

The history is the only place I had to tell me what happened to the program, When it's not there there where else would I look?  Summer shows on the non network stations are winding down, it's hard not to get emotional, and fall in to rhetoric.  This is my 2nd dvr, new type problems.

I think that 10 is an unrealistic goal, 12 maybe, 14 for sure.

LOVE your sense of humor.....more users could learn from that!!! Guess you discerned from the replies that 99 times out of 100 these are network guide glitches and fairly rare(hope in your case the channels you record from frequently never mess you up again:0)

Ok, I figured it out for you guys, but it gave me another problem.  It happened to so many of my programs this week, I spent time this am comparing the shows that didn't record and gave me that particular error code.  I asked it to record on "*" channel in HD, like 244HD.  I changed all my recording to "just" 244 on them all and hoped for better results this coming week.

What this solution gave me is another question.  I pay for the HD channels, have Choice Xtra, why aren't I entitled to the HD channels?

When I called last weekend, they took away my ability to buy ppv on my new receiver.  (what's up with this?)  I called Mon., or Tues, and got it back, but I heisitate to call on weekends.

You stated that you have an R22 DVR. That's not a HiDef DVR, unless you have other HD equipment on your account. What other DVRs and Receivers do you have?

You'll lose PPV ordering via your remote if you don't have the R22 connected to the internet or a phone line.

My mistake, I am so sorry, if you can change that for me in the initial set up post...

It's actually a HR22=100

Well, if the problem is only happening on your HD channels and not SD versions, then let's check your signal readings ....

Please post back with your signal readings for each satellite's transponders (and both tuners if applicable).  You'll find these readings under "Menu" -> "Setup" -> "System Setup" -> Satellite -> "View Signal Strength".  Note the "+" and "-" symbols next to the "Satellite" and "Tuner" entries where you can toggle the readings between the various satellites and both DVR tuners.

Fill in your readings for each satellite and tuner using these examples.  A properly aligned dish will show 80-90s on most of the relevant transponders (although some will be low or zero):

Satellite transponders (32 total at 101º)

[Most of your standard definition channels are beamed from 101ºW]

9-16   #   #   #   #   #   #   #   #

17-24  #   #   #   #   #   #   #   #

25-32  #   #   #   #   #   #   #   #

Satellite transponders (3 total at 110º)

[Not present with Slimline3 dish. No channels are currently beamed from this satellite]

1-8    NA  NA  NA  NA  NA  NA  NA  #

9-16   NA  #   NA  #   NA  NA  NA  NA

Satellite transponders (11 total at 119º)

I paid attention to these when I had issues setting the receiver up.  I will happily fill in the blanks (#) for you tomorrow, if you tell me you will be able to trouble shoot my problem.  I hate to do all that work, to have you tell me, oh ok, you are fine.  I remember a couple 0's and NA's, but not many 0's and mostly over 95%.....Are there specific transponders that I am looking for?
