Cannot Finding Sat Signal on Slimline dish

Have a Sl3 pig-wnc LNB attached to a Slimline dish. Running cable directly from LNB to H-20 reciever. Cannot find Sat signal in setup. Do I need any components between the dish and Reciever? This is a setup for a travel trailer.

I have tried to set it up according the the zip code azm / elevation settings... nothing. Just out of curiosity... what direction in the sky are the birds at? SE or SW?

 Thanks for any suggestions.

Does your Slimline3 dish have one coax connector or four?  If it has only one output connector, then it's Single Wire Multiswitch and you'll need a power inserter.  If it has four, then it will connect directly to your H20.  But you'll also need a B-Band Converter on the H20's SAT INPUT to receive any HD channels.

You find aiming coordinates and aerial mapping tools at http://www.dishpointer.com. They also sell a cool Smartphone App that lets you see where the satellites are located in the sky using the phone's camera, GPS and compass.

It has 4 outlet connectors so I guess that makes it not a Swm. If tbat is the case.. on the setup screen on the reciever, what dish do I choose? And are you sure I need the BBC connected?

During Satellite Setup, specify "Multiswitch", then "03: Slimline - 3".

Yes, you must have the BBC attached to receive any HD satellite signals.

Recently had the same trouble in our fulltime RV.....DTV data said for my location, I needed to be at 35 degrees elevation and 111 degrees of skew.

I found the best HD signal with my Slimline 3 at 37 degrees and 103 degrees....why the discrepancy ?  Like I was, you may be pointing to the wrong dot in the sky....

Not to steal the thread, but can anyone explain why my skew is so far off of the posted data ?  My dish is plumb, dish and arm are not damaged, my signals are in the high 90's.   To my way of thinking, if indeed the arc is at 111 degrees, I should have no signal at all at 103 degrees.
