Can't Change Channel from Guide Menu

Just programmed the DTV Remote to a new LG TV, and I can change the volume, power on/off, as well as change tv input from the remote. But, the only way I can change DTV channels is by pressing the up and down arrow on the channel button. If I open up the tv guide and try to select a channel, I just get stuck on the information screen until I hit Exi and return to the channel I was previously watching. Anyone know how to get around this? Thanks.
