Can't delete series from Series Manager

I use to be able to delete a series from the Series Manager, but just lately when I highlight a series and  press the R button, it only deletes the upcoming individual shows, not the entire series from the list.  Since the series is still in the list when new episodes come up it records them and I don't want to!!!!  Is anyone else having this problem and most importantly do you know how to fix it.  It's so annoying!!!!  Many thanks for your help.

We would be happy to help you with your Series Manager question @Bikiboo2!

The "R" button is only to start or stop recordings.

So in order to delete them from the playlist without disrupting the upcoming recordings, highlight the series or title you would like to delete and press the RED Button the remote. It should located below the left arrow button on the remote.

Please let us know if this helps resolve the issue!

Jessika,

Not this does not correct the problem.  I am not talking about the playlist.  My problem is with the Series Manager.

Up until a few months ago, if I wanted to delete a Series permanently from the Series Manager list, I just clicked on the "R" Button and this would remove it from the list. About a month ago, I went into the Series Manager and nearly all the Series I had save were gone.  I have read that this has happened to others in the past.  Anyway, I decided to delete the few remaining saved Series and give you time to correct the problem.  At this time,  I was able to remove them by using the "R" button.  I thought perhaps you had done some program changes and need time to get rid of the bugs. When I started to put SERIES back into the Series Manager, some series showed the correct number of upcoming episodes and others showed zero, when in fact there were upcoming ones. I looked in the Guide and these episodes had an R for " episode recorded", but  not the R with multiple circles that indicates the whole series will be recorded.

Now, when I go into Series Manager, highlight a SERIES and click the "R" button, it only deletes currently available episodes and no longer remove the whole series from the list.  The SERIES stays in the list, so when new upcoming episodes come up it will record the.  I want to remove the entire SERIES from the the list permanently, so no shows will be recorded.  I have tried clicking on the RED button, but it is non-functional in the Series Manager, does nothing. I also tried selecting the SERIES, then clicking on Series Options and Cancel Series.  Every time I do this, it says the SERIES is canceled, but when I go back into the Series Manager IT'S STILL THERE!!! HELP!!!!

Thank you for clarifying the issue further @Bikiboo2!

We have a couple of things you can try to do if you haven't already:

Reset the Receiver: by pressing the red button on the DVR or by unplugging from the power for 15 seconds and plug it back in

Also you can try clearing the cache of the DVR receiver, which is completely safe for your recordings as well.

To cache the receiver, use the remote:

  • Press Menu button
  • Select Search and Browse
  • Type "clearmybox"
  • Select the Keyword for "clearmybox"
  • It will say "no results found" for a moment, then will reboot on its own.

If this does not resolve it, there may be an issue with the receiver itself since we are not currently finding a trend on this issue being reported to us.

Let us know if this does not help and we can get you a replacement receiver!

Jessika,

Thank you!  I did the 2nd option you suggested to "clearmybox" and it worked perfectly.  After I followed your directions and it went through the restore process, I went into the Series Manager and all of the Series I had tried to delete were gone and I could, again, delete other Series by using the "R" button, as I was able to before the problem arose (not the RED bottom - still is non functional for Series manager).

I also didn't loose any of my individually recorded shows in the Play List, nor any in the Upcoming recordings list.  It just corrected the problem in my Series Manager, perfection!

So again, thank you!!!!!!!!!

That's awesome to hear @Bikiboo2!

That was a misunderstanding about the red button. That only works in the playlist, not in the Series Manager, so that works as it should. Our apologies about that.

We are so glad that resolved the issue!
