Can't find satellite signal

I'm trying to setup my new hd dvr receiver.  When i get to to checking configuration,  it can't find a satellite signal.  I had a regular dvr working before.  I used the 2 b band converters.  the screen says slimline 5 which it is, multiswitch? and dual and I plugged in the correct order number
