Can't Network DECA

Tech spent 3 hours hooking up system yesterday.  Replaced everything that didn't have a green sticker (LNB, SWM, etc).Watched one minute and lost connection.  Have HR22-100 and H21-100.  3 green lights on each DECA hooked up to receivers.  Don't have the line hooked up to my modem due to the heat in the attic in AZ.  Tech said that is only for On Demand and such and wasn't necessary to network the receivers together.  Pressed the red reset button yesterday so much it almost wore out.  Not an option.  Any suggestions?

Rather upset with Direct TV right now.  Had MRV working via a direct Ethernet cable but system froze after about 30 minutes.  Decided to call Direct TV and CSR said whole house would be done for $149.  She said the D12's would also be upgraded to new standard boxes capable of MRV all for $149.  When tech arrived, he laughed since there is no such thing.  From top to bottom, this rollout has been a disaster.

I want to get a SWM/Deca install but I don't want to be my installer's 1st try. I'm waiting until they know what they're doing. Stories like yours tell me that it's going to be a while.
