Can't reconnect one H24 to WHDVR - worked perfect before
Hi guys. I’m having a problem with on of my H24’s reconnecting to my WHDVR. First a little background. I have two HR24s and four H24s. All have been successfully connected via WHDVR for 6 weeks now without a single hiccup. I have a SWM 3LNB dish. All recievers connected via RG6 - NO ethernet. Today, I took one of the H24s and setup with an 18” round for a tailgate and it worked perfectly – watched everything on the 101 satellite without a problem. Now for the problem:
Hooked up the H24 back at home, repeated satellite setup. I selected the same dish all the others have and SWM (same settings as before). No WHDVR list and the IP is something I don’t recognize (not 192.168.1.174 which is always is). Did the red button reset – SAME PROBLEM. Then I unplugged all boxes, the power inserter, the DECA power supply, router, and cable modem. Brought up one by one with a minute or two between each (cable modem – router – power inserter – DECA power supply – HRs – Hs). SAME PROBLEM.
All the other boxes work perfectly. What am I missing? Why will this box not reconnect to the WHDVR network? I’m so frustrated. I feel I know my setup very well but this is extremely perplexing. Any help please!!!

I just did a "restore defaults" under network setup and it also didn't help. I'm really starting to think I some how messed up this receiver by hooking it up to an 18" dish.

after you did the restore defaults, go back to network and do the "connect now" command and see what happen

I did that and it still didn't work. BUT, in doing that I went in the "more info" under system information and something caught my eye when inspecting ALL the settings, not just the network settings. That was the fact that in "more info" 18" round dish was still selected under dish type. SO, I went back into repeat sat setup and sure enough, it stillsaid Slimline 3S and it WOULD NOT let me change it.
So here's the solution that worked for me: I unplugged the RG6 from the wall, went back into sat setup at which time the H24 would let me change/reset the dish type. It was so weird that when the RG6 was plugged in it would say Slimline 3S (correct), but soon as it was unplugged it reverted to 18" round. After I did the change everything came up fine and it was instantly connected to WHDVR.
Lesson learned: After using the H24 with the 18" round, repeat the sat setup BEFORE plugging the RG6 back into the Slimline 3S SWM system. Hope this can help anyone else that may have a similar problem!
