Change color of side pillar bars

Can you change the color of the side pillar bars for channels that do not broadcast HD.  Mine appear white and it's rather unattractive.  I'd rather they be black.  I know I can just change the format to stretch or to another aspect, but I'd rather not mess with it while just flipping through channels.
