CHANGE LNB'S FOR HD

I currently have a older AU-9 3 LNB dish that was left on my house.  Now that the HD programs have changed to differant

Satelittes, Can I just change to a SL3 4 output and use the same back plane and make no other changes in my wiring?

You are referencing the same type of LNB in your post. But with your dish you can use any of the slimline legacy LNB's with no changes to you wiring. You can also change to a SWM LNB if you wanted to

Here are photos of the legacy SL3 and SL5 LNB assemblies for the AU9 dish.  The SWM models would have only one coax port.

peds  I do not belive I had referanced the smae lnb as I stated that I had the older AU9 3lnb.  The 'new' 3 lnb is the SL series from what I am reading and seeing.

Thank you to both you and dcd for the answer.  This will help in setup.

I'm a bit confused.  The AU9 is the Slimline.  See link. http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=au9-sl3-swm&d=DIRECTV-AU9-SL3-SWM-Three-LNB-Ka/Ku-Slim-Line-Dish-Antenna-SL-3-LNB-Combo-(AU9-SL3-SWM)

Do you by chance have an old AT9 Sidecar dish?  See link. http://www.amazon.com/DIRECTV-Satellite-antenna-outdoor-ku-band/dp/B000YN9AM2

If so, I don't believe the SL3 or SL5 will fit the AT9 dish, you'd have to replace the dish as well as the LNB assembly.

Maybe the OP actually has a 3-LNB Phase III dish?

Ahhhh, may well be.  That isn't compatible with the SL LNB assemblies either.  Here's a pic of the Phase III.  http://www.amazon.com/PHASEIII-DirecTV-18-Triple-LNB/dp/tags-on-product/B0006DONR2

yeap, we need clarification as to what DISH type the op has. if in fact is an AU9 that is an slimline and any of the LNB's pictured by dcd would work. but if it is a triple sat, then the op would need to change the dish completely.
