Changing the guide paging direction

When the guide is displayed onscreen:  Paging DOWN one channel causes a change to the next HIGHER channel number. 

When the guide is not displayed onscreen:  Hitting the channel DOWN button causes a change to the next LOWER channel number.

EXAMPLE:

Let's say you are looking at the guide and you are currently on channel 4, You notice an interesting program on channel 6. To get to channel 6 you press the DOWN button 2 times and press SELECT - the guide goes away and channel 6 is now displayed. 

At this point pressing UP 2 times SHOULD cause you to return to channel 4.  Instead, you now go to channel 8.

This is illogical.  Try it.

Is there a way to set the paging direction for the guide so it syncs with the direction of the non-guide mode?
