Channel button not working in the Guide
We have a Gemini remote for our Direct TV. All of the buttons work except now the channel button doesn’t work in the Guide so we are not able to scroll through the channels quickly. Any suggestions?

It works to change channels (both up and down) but does not work at all when I am in the guide. So, we can’t scroll quickly through the guide.

@Lbeckham
Have you tried a red button reset on BOTH the Gemini as well as the main Genie HDDVR? It is on the right side of the Gemini and the red button reset, depending on the Genie model, could be on the right side by the access card for HR54 series or behind the door that says “PUSH”.

Don't understand what the main Gemini HDDVR is. All I have is the plug in unit to tye tv and the remote.

There is no Gemini HD DVR it is a client so that means you have an HS17 Genie2 tower that is not connected to any TVs somewhere or an HR44/54 Genie that is connected to a TV.

I have been having the same problems with the guide and scrolling through the channels. I'm using the Gemini streaming device and have tried all the above listed remote and device resetting methods. If anybody has heard of solution I would appreciate any more info.

I turned out mine was a bad remote. DTV replaced it and works fine now.

I'm having the same problem. When I signed up I asked for two remotes and they both won't page up or down in the guide menu while using the ch button anymore. Used to work.

Did a factory reset and it is now functioning like before. Ch up and down will page up and down in the guide menu. I love Directv Stream so much better than Xfinity and I was with Xfinity for over 15 years.
Edit: Before doing factory reset, I tried restarting the dongle and repairing the remote.

In case anyone comes on this thread, to help there are devices that are very different but with similar naming (Genie vs Gemini)
Genie: HR34, HR44, HR54
This is more a traditional HDDVR, but works as a server for Clients.
Genie Lite: H44
Think HR44 but without DVR built-in. Can add with DVR upgrade kit.
Mini Genie: C31 thru C61
Wireless: C41W and C61W
4K: C61K
These are Clients, extensions of the main Genie/Genie Lite/Genie-2
Genie-2: HS17
Headless Server tower that doesn't go on a TV. Main brain for all Clients. Only allows Clients.
Gemini: C71KW
A Client similar to a Mini Genie. Is both wired and wireless capable. Supports downloading apps similar to other streaming devices (Roku, Firestick, etc.).
Gemini Air
This is the "dongle" version of the Gemini. Wireless only.
