cold weather issues
I posted first on Jan. 1 about losing signal on clear nights when temp. dips below -5 degrees, and I responded to some of you, but it seems that many of those posts have been removed from this forum! Well I think I got my issue resolved as of yesterday. It seems that I, like many other DIRECTV customers had a faulty LNB installed, and according to the tech who replaced mine (his 8th in two days), DIRECTV is well aware of this issue. After seeing one of the posts on this forum, which suggested to send an email or call the Sr. Vice President of Customer Care, Ellen Filipiak, (eafilipiak@directv.com) which I did, and believe it or not got a call back from Jennifer from DIRECTV within 2 hours. I was offered a free service call and even though it didn't happen until the 8th of January. The tech who came out looked at my dish from the ground and seeing what type of LNB I had immediately replaced it and I was back in service. He told me that the solder in the faulty LNB separates during the extreme cold weather. Last night it was minus 15 degrees and clear skies and I had no signal issues! I hope this is the last time I have to post an issue on this forum. I hope all of my fellow customers read this and not only get their issue resolved, but don't end up paying for the fix. To all who tried to defend DIRECTV for installing faulty equipment...shame on you!
