Coming back to DIRECTV

Hi, I plan on coming back to directv, However there is just one problem, Well, not really a problem, but the cables to me International dish were cut and I removed the splitter(I thought I was never coming back) I did leave a lot of cable up there, Shouldnt the tech be able to "Mend" what I have and reconnect a splitter? I'm hoping he doesnt have to run all new lines, but if he does, he does.

It would be in your best interest if he did run new cable -to provide you with the best possible service, all a splice will do is set your system up with a weak link at the very start.-NOT good a good start for your new service.

The installer will have every thing need to get you up and running. Welcome back.

SmileThanks for the advice,  Called Directv Saturday Afternoon and placed order for Service.  Tech will be here tomorrow morning between 0800-1200  I am also going to ask him if he can reconnect my international dish with one of those splitters as the splitter I had that was on it got taken off back when I foolishly thought I would not come back to directv. I actually cut the cables it was attached too and removed it, Stupid move on my part!! I like watching Cricket when the spring rolls around and that is why I got that international dish as an add on.  Thanks again for your advice.

If you ordered the International service the installer will reattach and adjust the international dish.  If you didn't order the service, it won't be on the work order thus you'll need to negotiate with and pay the installer directly.  These folks get paid set amounts for each item on the work order and there isn't much room for them to do extra work without compensation.  Note that the International dish and HD dish combination requires a completely different HD dish and auxiliary equipment than does a setup without International so the installer may not be prepared to do that extensive a switch.

If it were me, I'd call and change my order and reschedule installation.

I've got the International dish and the lines are up there, you are right, the installer said I would have to call as he did not have the switch on his truck, he said to call them and schedule another call so thats what I will do, he said it wouldnt be a big deal as I already have the dish there etc. Thanks again for the advice, My Service is working great too, the DVR is much smaller than my old one was and there is just one line going into it as there is now some type of new splitter they use, It's amazing just how fast the technology changes in a short time, anyway, looking foward to watching Monday night football again!! 🙂
