Connecting a remote to a new Genie Mini

I can get to the mini-genie screen that says "Connect Now". But the remote won't select it. I tried Select, Enter and every other button. The remote doesn't seem to even work with the new mini-genie. Yes, I put new batteries in. Remote still works with TV but doesn't turn the mini-genie off.

New mini genie model C61W - 400
