Connection Issues

The last 24 hours I can watch tv for about 30 to 45 minutes and then I lose connection and the receiver reboots itself….this takes about 10 minutes. I called a spoke with someone at Direct TV yesterday and they walked me through the reset process (I know how to reset) and of course the connection was restored. 30 minutes later I lost connection again….restored….lost again….do I need a new receiver to resolve this issue? Ran diagnostics….passed

Have you checked you signal strenght to see how it is I know when I used to have Sat. that if signal strenght was low it would loose connection and try to reboot.  Aslo check to make sure all you cables are tight and that there are no lose connections.  If you keep having the same issue you may need to have them send a tech to your house beacuse it could be any number of things.

Thank you….I checked the signal strength at it is good. Two and a half hours ago I pulled the card (looks like a credit card) from the receiver and reinserted and again rebooted the system….it has now been up and running since then. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

@Wahine60 yes that would be the access card. Rebooting the receiver with the red reset button is always the best attempt at a possible fix. If it occurs again let us know your receiver model, when it started happening, and any other possible things we should know about.
