D10 SD Receiver

I have a D10 SD Receiver and a 46" Panasonic TV. When I shut down both the receiiver and the TV using the power "OFF" button on the DTV Remote the TV goes scattered whits an make a loud noise. When I use my HD Receiver this does not happen theTV and Receiver just shut down. Have I set up my remote for the D10 incorrectly or what?
