D12 Setup for RV Use

I promise I have looked around the forums and have not found an appropriate answer from a direct question.  I have multiple receivers (H22, H23, and D12s) in my house.  I was given a winegard portable dish with a tripod.  i picked up a signal meter and seemed to be able to get about a 50% signal strength alignment.  In other forum readings, this can be enough.  I want to use one of the D12 receivers in the RV when we go camping.  Have gotten as far as 'Acquiring Satellite'.  The previous dish owner said he did get it to work when he had Directv.  My assumption is that I need to do some configuration in the receiver before this is going to work.  This is what I am looking for...The walkthrough steps to allow my D12 to acquire the satellite and receive the channel lineup for broadcast.
