Data should be updated from the internet not from the satelite.

Why does the data or guide information trickle down from the satelite when the box is connected to the internet?  Information about cast & crew should also be updated from the internet.  I can download a whole HD movie from the internet in about a half-hour, but I have to wait days for other information to trickle down from the satelite.  That makes NO sense!!!!!

A large percentage of customers (for example, all SD customers) do not have interne connected to their receiverst, and some that do have bandwidth limitations.

and to ad to tex's post, assuming that all receivers were connected to the internet, this connection is not provided by DirecTV, thus DirecTV can only rely on what they can control, specially when it comes to such important things as updating their receiver's software.
