DECA
I have read thru pages of posts, and can't seem to find the specific answer I am looking for:
I have the following system:
SWM dish and splitter
HR24 with inline SWM Power Inserter
HR23
Cable Internet (fully networked with Cat 5 and wireless).
I understand that the HR24 includes built-in DECA, and that the HR23 does not.
My question is: how many of the white DECA boxes will I need for full Whole Home and Cinemaplus functionallity? In the following diagram, my HR23 replaces the shown HR21, but will I need the second DECA box shown?
http://forums.directv.com/pe/RepositoryFileDownloadServlet/10756426/Whole%20Home%20DVR%20Install%5B15%5D.jpg
To ask the question another way, can the DECA that is inline with the HR23 that gives DECA capability to that receiver also function as the network bridge and provide the power that the other DECA shown does? How is that for a confusing run-on sentence?
Thanks for your help!

You will need a Deca for the HR23 and a deca to connect to the rg6 & a patch cabe to your router -just like the picture.
The deca that is shown will work the Braodband Deca is the same thing but different as it was Mfg after the mrv deca roll out.
If you hook up your Service using the additional two deca's remember to disconnect the cat5 cable attached to the hR24 and reboot the receiver (DOING) that will enable it's internal deca.
Good luck ;
You can also check solidsignal.com for pictures of the parts or to order.

Thank you so much. So I will need (2) DECA1MR0 white box, but only (1) power supply (PS18DER0), correct?
They have the power supply listed as "currently not available". Guess I will find another source.
Or maybe I go with (1) white box at the HR23 and (1) DECABB1R0 black box at the router?
I appreciate it!

GO with this option
(1) white box at the HR23 and (1) DECABB1R0 black box at the router?
decabb comes with a power supply and a cat5 jumper.

A Whole Home DVR system has two power supplies. One is the power inserter to power the SWM dish the other is the power pack for the BB adapter gl1800 recommends. See pic attached. You'll need one DECA and one BB kit. Be sure to use quality compression fittings on any coax you make up.
Try to put the power inserter "power to SWM" port on it's own independent feed to the red port of the splitter.
The schematic link you posted has been revised to reflect this independent connection and is attached. Also note do not exceed eight splitter ports or two separate splitters.

Thanks for the additional info.
FYI - I found both the Deca and the BB kit on Amazon for significantly cheaper than I saw elsewhere. $29 for both (+ shipping).

I had a thought. Does your SWM dish have a green label? If you'll look at the schematic in post #5, you'll see the need for a band stop filter if the SWM is not green labeled.
