Did my TV get hacked?

I did an nmap scan on all of the devices on my network. My receiver has TCP port 9001 open and the service is called tor-orport. TOR is used to access the dark web, so I am a little concerned that it was hacked. Do you think that it was hacked? If not, why does it use tor-orport?

DirecTV doesn't provide cable modems. You should ask this question in the relevant forum for your brand/model cable modem.

What DVR/Receiver model number?

Not sure how anyone could hack a DirecTV DVR/Receiver. Or would even want to.

@litzdog911 DIRECTV HR54 Genie Server. And I agree about how and why they would. Nmap might just be messing up.

@litzdog911 I think it might be normal to have tor for some reason because https://forums.directv.com/conversations/directv-equipment/need-to-open-ports-on-my-router/610c112adf08a4122a46b634 says that the support chat specifically said it should have 9001 open.

@Hi @IsaacTate. Thank you for reaching us!

We care about you and your privacy. It is very unlikely that our receivers are hacked, yet we would love to check if your account was compromised.

Let's meet in a direct message on this. Please check your DM inbox (it's the chat icon next to the bell icon at the upper right corner of the forums) to take a closer look into this.

@IsaacTate disconnect the receiver from the Internet and Ethernet if you are so concerned. What exactly do you mean by hacked? And how could something like this affect you so much? The entire DIRECTV receiver has encrypted data and code, therefore making it super tricky to hack anything. If they were to hack it (very unlikely) then the most they would get is everything you can see on your TV screen like the RID, access card, programming info, etc. Nothing personal..
