Direct TV for travelers in our motor home

We are traveling for two weeks in our motor home. We have a satellite dish mounted to the roof and two HR24 DVRs we travel with. The first night there were no problems receiving our signal.  The second night when we reached our final destination all we could get was a 771 error on both boxes.  We were on the phone for at least THREE hours last night with different reps from Direct Tv.  Not one person new of the “travelers”  programming - “Direct TV for travelers”.  They kept trying to change our address on our account or we would be “disconnected” and a new person would come on the phone and we would have to start all over again.
Saying we were frustrated cannot begin to explain how we’re we’re feeling last night.  9/10 customer service agents we could barely understand what they saying.  We kept asking them about the program that is advertised yet no one could tell me how to sign up for this “Travelers Package” or why the signal that has worked fine until we were 7 hours from home.

Could you please help and explain why we could not get a signal 771 error and also how we can get direct tv for our motor home.  I do not want to switch to dish network even though they have a program for RVers.  We are at our wits end and could use some assistance please.

Thank you,

Because you had a regular account, your locals were set to your "home" address. Locals are delivered by spot beam focused on your "home" city, and once you travel away from "home" the signal will eventually disappear and you will get 771s. As you deduced, you need a Travelers Account, which gives you the national networks, which are available everywhere,  instead of locals. The Directv CSR should be able to tell you about RV accounts, but many of them don't seem to know anything. So go to an RV dealer and ask them how to set up a Travelers Account.
