Direct TV receiver and lamp
Both of the Direct TV receivers and a lamp that is activated by touch, power on in the middle of the night.
I have one receiver in the bedroom and one downstairs. The lamp is in the bedroom. They have all been turning on in the middle of the night.
Any ideas how?

There is possibly a source of IR radiation that is triggering the receivers. Street lights and other sources can be troublesome, although that is relatively rare. Why not unplug the light for starters, and see if the receivers continue their wayward ways.

How old is your home's electrical wiring?
Is everything properly grounded?

Unplug the lamp and of course nothing powered on last night. I will plug the lamp back in to see what happens.
