DIRECTV Fix: Remote Pairing Except Audio
Remote Paired On-Screen but Audio is not Working
If the DIRECTV remote works during programming but stops, try the following:
Genie Remote
- Press Mute + Select until the green LED blinks twice
- Enter 9-9-3 (green LED will blink twice)
- Press VOL +
Universal Remote
- Move the slide switch to AV1, AV2, or TV position, as desired.
- Point the remote to the receiver and components.
- Press and hold Mute and Select until the green light flashes twice.
- Enter 9-9-3 on the keypad.
- The greenlight at top of the remote should flash twice.
- Press and release the Select button.
- The greenlight should again flash twice.
- Confirms that Volume and Mute keys are now locked to the selected component.
- Volume and Mute keys will control only that component.
Heads Up: If these steps don't let you control the volume, the first code may also be a "partial remote code." Try skipping the first remote code and see if you can locate another code that would let you control the volume.
If neither of those steps work, try resetting the receiver and attempt them again. Sometimes the receiver just needs a quick refresh.
