Directv Gemini receiver

I ordered the new Gemini receiver and the tech came out and installed. This new receiver replaced a Genie mini. Upon installing,  the picture was super washed out, the tech and I tried multiple tv's , different cables and everything he could think of and nothing worked. Over the next few days I called technical support twice and spent 40 minutes to an hour on the phone each time with no improvement.  Sadly I had to send the receiver back and replace back to the mini Genie. I hope they will get this technology to work because the premise of a receiver for Directv and apps with one remote is great. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue?
