A slimline SWM dish on a tripod/sled mount or the Winegard Trav'ler is what you will need. You also need the box to be an H or HR model.

DirecTV is shutting down their MPEG-2/SD-only feeds so D or R models must be replaced (except R22 if you have at least one H or HR model on the account).

To add onto what Juniper said, you’ll also need a 21V SWM power inserter (if your receiver is not model HR54 because this model provides the power itself). Additionally, quad shield coaxial cable is recommended for a reliable signal strength.

You will lose all local channels once you are outside of your locals spot beam.

sorry detuch254, but you don't need quad shield cable, it won't improve signal strength. RG6 copper core is fine.

Sorry for the confusion. I should have said ‘reliable’ in general, not anything related to signal strength. RG6 copper does the job as well, I was only trying to recommend it.

Is the slimline dish easy to setup?

In our Rv we have an H24 at home we have genie and mini genies.

"Easy" is a relative term. It can take some practice. You'll find several YouTube videos showing how, including this one ....

At first, the dish can be hard to set up for some. You’ll need to make sure that the two inch pole is perfectly level, that the elevation and skew is correct (info can be found online at dishpointer.com), that you have a clear line of sight, and that the dish is not too far away from the receiver because you’ll need to use the receiver’s built-in signal meter to aim the dish.

There are several videos instructing how to find the satellites on YouTube. Essentially, first go slowly from left to right until you find satellite 101. Get transponder 1 to maximum strength. Once you get the best strength, lock the dish down with the three half-inch collar bolts. Then, you’ll need to switch to satellite 99 (ca) and peak one of those transponders. This is done by the dithering process. Loosen both elevation bolts and then turn the dithering bolts (left and right) until you achieve maximum strength. From there, tighten the elevation bolts and you should be done peaking.

Yes, that HD Receiver will work fine with the Slimline dish. You will also need a SWM Power Inserter. 

Genie and Mini Genies at home with an H24 for the RV? Decent setup I must say. Hopefully you have an HR44 or HR54 (or revised HR54R1) and not the 1st generation Genie (HR34).

Just make sure to never have more than 3 Mini Genies. You can have receivers/HDDVRs instead of Clients for more than that, or instead of any existing Mini Genies to get more bang for your buck (and a little more reliability.

As a caution, if you are ever offered an upgrade to the Genie-2 (HS17), just say no. It forbids other receivers (like your H24) so would be very unfriendly for an RV setup as Clients cannot work without the main box.
