DirecTV TV apps keep initializing on their own
I keep having an issue where the DirecTV TV apps that you would normally access by pushing the right arrow on the remote keep initializing on their own. I have reset the Genie receiver, taken the batteries out of the remote, tried to change settings...nothing has fixed it. It is very annoying.

Is something triggering the remote to press that right arrow? Additionally, what is the receiver model? Perhaps an item is pressing against that arrow on the actual receiver buttons (front panel), resulting in it being triggered.
You can try taking the batteries out of the remote and seeing if the issue remains. If not, you know the issue is with that remote and it should likely be replaced. Remotes are free with a protection plan or can be purchased online through Solid Signal, Amazon, and eBay.

Thank you for the response. I have an HR44/700. There is nothing in front of the receiver that could touch the controls there. I have taken out the batteries and left them out multiple times, with the TV apps still activating. I have checked to see if it could be any other remote for other DirecTV boxes or universal remotes and have found nothing else that could be causing it.

Try a red button reset. This will be behind the right door that says ‘PUSH’. If that doesn’t fix the issue, go to Menu, Search, type CLEARMYBOX, and do a Keyword Search.

I have already done the red button reset and the problem still persists. If I do the keyword search and execute, will that clear my dvr recordings too?

Update. I did the "Clearmybox" after your last message 2 weeks ago and it worked, until today. Today the TVApps began initializing on their own again. Any other suggestions or advice?
