Do I need a land line to setup new HD DVR?

Hi Folks,

I have a couple of Tivos that are getting old and want to upgrade to HD

I called directv and they say the directv HD DVR does not require a land line to activate.

Is that true?

I do have a network in my house I can hook up to but I no longer use land lines I have  only cell phone and Magic Jack.

Can anyone confirm that is the case before I order one?
