Does Connected Home Adapater use DHCP on Ethernet side?
Have a boat with a motorized KVH SatTV antenna feeding a KVH TVHub, to SWM, PI, SWM Splitter to an HR24-200, and two H25's. SatTV working great BUT whole home DVR not working yet shows licensed, so I bought a DCAU1R0-01 Connected Home adapter....SolidSignal forgot to tell me that was needed when I bought the package. Followed steps to connect DCAU1R0 to router, power, RG6 into SWM Splitter and reset network interface on each end point still no love. Each end point shows no coaxial network detected.
Upon initial power to the DCAU1R0 power light on, network light flashes 20 times, ethernet port flashes 2 times and cycle repeats. When the ethernet port flashes my router WebUI would freeze as if it was seeing a conflicting IP on the network and choking on it. SolidSignal sent me a new DCAU1R0 and HR24-500 claiming it's one of these that are bad. Before I start plugging in new components one thing I noticed before, is the DCAU1R0 never shows up in my Router's IP tables. I'm wondering does it use DHCP on the ethernet side or does it have a hard coded IP? Also curious if anyone knows what IP range will be used on the COAX side? Will my boat 192.168.101.X network be extended to the COAX network or does it use a different subnet range?

Ok I'm basing this on the SWM16 I use, I assume the SWM8 has 3 ports one marked SWM1 the middle is the power and the third is SWM2 connect the "To SWM" to the middle power port cap the "To IRD on the power inserter, connect the SWM8 splitter to either SWM1 or 2
I assume that the SWM8 has a four tuner limit on each SWM port as the SWM16 has an 8 tuner limit on each SWM port but having only 3 tuners that will not be a problem unless you add more receivers.

if he takes the SWM8 Splitter OFF the IRD (port)of the power supply and connects to the SWIM 8 BLOCK --That will correct why whole home does not work---as I suggest long ago --before knowing all the setup.

Shannon you state "You do not need the Connected Home Adapter." is that because the SWM-8 can broker/act as the router/DHCP server for the COAX network? The SolidSignal sales guy thought I wouldn't need the connected home adapter either when he sold me the package but when whole home DVR wouldn't work he said oh you must need one. Now after trying two no love. Still have to move the connection to the red power pass port on the SWM-Splitter as a test but your comment caught my attention.
I'm authorized for Whole Home DVR:
But this is the part that kills me no Coax network detected. Does the SWM-8 or the Home Adapter become the default gateway to route between the HR24 and H25's?
My H25's show the same status as above. I do a Reset Network and it never discovers the SWM-8 or the Connected Home Adapter....

GoldW, I'm just following the only documentation I can find from Solid Signal or ATT on how to connect up the Home Adapter. They always show it going into the SWM-Splitter not the SWM-8 and don't specify a specific port....

If you are wired as this picture shows --That's why it does NOT work --REASON: The dish (downlead RG6) Goes to the single (top port) on the Multi-Switch (swm8 splitter) --The SWM power out Connects to PORT 1 (RED) of the (swm8 splitter) (the IRD PORT of the Power supply is capped)
That what's causing your issue. When you get to port and have WFii --Test your internet connection and see if your whole home is working.
If it does --When you leave port --and lose your WFii --See if it still works --that way you will know if internet is needed for sure.
IF your using a BIG GREEN SWM8 and swm8 splitter --That would mean you have 4 downleads coming from the dish (DO YOU HAVE ONE OR 4)??? in any case if you have a big green swm8 --The Power supply lead connects to that and IRD port is still capped!

Recall in a previous picture I posted of the KVH configuration shows the SWM-8 with 4 wires going in 13V/18V/13sec/18Vsec and the PI-29 connecting it and the SWM Splitter. The picture I just posted this morning is one of many that I find that show connecting the Home Adapter/Cinema Connection Kit/or DECA-BB to the SWM Splitter and the your home network. There is no one picture that shows all....but if Shannon is correct from what I infer the SWM-8 can broker the whole home DVR connection/IP Network instead of needing the home adapter.

Then the PI-29 Connects to the (PWR IN) on the Sm8 --the IRD port on the PI-29 is capped --One leg SW1 or SW2 connects to the single top lead of the swm 8 silver splitter (all receivers + the Dongel Connect to the silver ports -1-2-3-4-5 all others are capped --
on the Hr24 Post a picture of your Internet setting --Menu Setting internet

You are not using internet so you don't need a DECA as they only add or remove that signal from the coax. Your internet router assigns the DHCP to the receivers not the SWM module or the DECA. That no coax connected means you are not connected to the internet and as stated before internet is not needed for Whole Home to work.
If you do want to add internet you need a DECA BB the Ethernet cable is connected to the router Ethernet port and to the Ethernet port on the DECA BB then the power source is connected then a coax goes to the SWM splitter and is connected to any open port.
The HR24 will never see itself on the network/Whole Home so that message means there are no other DVRs connected.

GoldW - I understand what your suggesting and think I read the exact same recommendation via this SolidSignal article A Better Way To Connect a Direct TV Power Inserter I only wired my system following the KVH guide but admittedly found an error in their wiring diagram that when I called for support required me to invert the 13V & 18V connections. I can try you suggestion and report back.
Shannon I see the same message about Whole home: Authorized and no Coax Network detected on all my receivers. I understand how DHCP works for Ethernet but my question was more geared to how do the HR24 and H25's get their IP's to communicate on Coax using what I thought was the MoCA communication protocol/network. I see my HR24 and H25 devices have 169 IP's is that for the MoCA network or just for Internet communication. Without a Gateway there is no were for the traffic to flow. With no Coax Network detected is that indicative of no box to box communication? IF GoldW's PI wiring change fixes it then I'll just ditch the Connected Home Adapter as I don't really need INET access....
From one of my H25's

The STB services port is no longer used so that means nothing. Have no idea how the receivers send info packets to stream the programs could be DTV using their own system all I know is you don't need an internet connection.
