Download buffering
When I want to watch a program already started and use the back button, the download buffers to the point I can not watch it. I do not have this problem on Netflix or Hulu on my 3 Mb DSL internet connection.

All streaming services tailor their resolution to your download speed while DTV sends the entire file in the resolution it was made in.

As a communications company, I would think they could better serve their customers by tailoring the download.
On another topic, I have never seen a web site so user hostile as theirs. It re-directs for almost every page. Maybe because they took over for Directv but their network people did not do a good job in mapping the site.

DTV is not a streaming service and you are not receiving the program from DTV but from the channels On Demand server.

...but you are right about the ATT web site being hostile. Multiple redirects, often to the wrong place. They don't seem to want to produce a good web site.
Oh, and this attitude predates their acquisition of Directv. Their web site designer should be ashamed.

Thanks for the reply concerning the web site. I was not an AT&T customer before Directv so I have no plane of reference. However I did work for HP and had a number of dealings with AT&T.
Much of the work was performed by contract personnel. Given a task without the linkages to existing products, hampered the building of software that integrated the overall application. It is evident in the way the pages jump form one link to another.
That does not remove the requirement for "anyone" in their organization to review the flow and take corrective action to provide a well thought out user experience.

Case in point, I received a response to my posting as an email. I clicked on the link and wrote my response as above. hit Post. It brought up the Log In screen, I logged in and was unable to post what I had written. I had to close the windows tab and re-open the response. Hopefully I can now post my response.
