DVR A can see DVR B, but B cannot see A

I have whole home across 2 HR-22-100's. they are both on a home network via ethernet.

both receivers are connected to the network and internet. thats never been an issue. my ipad can see both of them without any trouble.

DVR A can see my other DVR B. however, B cannot see A, no matter what I do. i've tried restoring defaults, resets, etc. It always connects to the netwrok just fine, but it always says "No networked DVR's found".

I find it the other one can see it, but it can't see the other one. very frustrating. up until recently this was all working just fine. i don't use it often enough to know exactly when it stopped and what might have changed.

Also, i've done multiple resets on BOTH dvr's and done Restore Defaults on BOTH dvr's to troubleshoot this.  the only two scenarios are that they don't see each other at all, or i just get the 1 way. and its always the same 1-way.

You are apparently running a non  supported Beta type system.  Are you sure that both DVR's are set to share in the Whole Home menu?  If so, I'd reset the network configuration on both DVR's thus.

Connect the Ethernet cable to the top or only port of the DVR and an open port on the router.  Check that the router has DHCP enabled (essential).  Do a red button (inside card door) reset of the DVR.  When it's booted up, do thus:   Menu -> .....setup -> system setup -> network setup -> restore defaults. At this point stop and go to your router and disconnect AC power for a minute and plug it back in.  When all the lights settle down, go back to the DVR and run the "connect now" command.  You should get a "connected to Internet" message. Allow 24 hours for the system to download then try downloading a concert from channel 1239 as a test.

Thanks for the response

What leads you to think i'm running a Beta type system?

In terms of troubleshooting, both are on DHCP, and both have no trouble at all connecting to the network.  Both are configured the same in terms of sharing playlists and allowing deletes.  Both can be controlled by the iPad app, who can pull shows from both in its Playlist

I've done the reboot/restore defaults thing multiple times, albeit without the shutting down of the router. but again, both have no trouble getting on the network. its just that one refuses to see the playlist of the other.

It's an unsupported configuration because you're using direct ethernet connection instead of DirecTV's supported satellite coax-based DECA networking.

Try the reconfiguration process as suggested.  Do both boxes if necessary, includiung the router.  Check that both are configured for sharing.  The troubleshooting process requires that you try the suggestions and report the results otherwise nothing gets done.
